Family Support Group
Saturdays from 10:00-11:30am in both the Hauppauge and Westbury offices
You are not alone! This is an open group, no appointment necessary. The support group helps families, friends, parents, siblings and spouses identify struggles they are experiencing with a loved one that struggles with the use of drugs and/or alcohol.
Family Education Series
You and your family members can complete this series at times that are convenient for you, in a private setting where your family members can receive individualized attention and guidance. Please call us today to schedule a confidential family session.
Participants learn about:
- The Disease of Addiction
- Substance use as a family disease
- The Role of the Family
- Establishing boundaries
- Following through with rules and consequences
- Motivating a loved one to accept help
- The importance of family support and self-care
- Communication skills
- Treatment Options for Substance Use Disorders
Planned family interventions are available for families who have a loved one that is struggling with substance use and who also refuses to accept any form of help despite multiple efforts by family members. All family members who wish to participate must complete the Family Education Series, attend must attend the Family Support Group.
