LICADD implements state of the art diagnostic evaluations, recommendations, and treatment referral services for Nassau and Suffolk County attorneys, criminal courts, and probation and parole officers. We also work closely with Legal Aid and take referrals from Child Protective Services.
Clients who are court-referred for drug and alcohol-related offenses must complete a two-day screening, assessment, biopsychosocial evaluation and recommendations. Recommendations may be a referral to treatment or to our Start2Stop program.
The Start2Stop program is a psychoeducation program for individuals struggling with issues around drugs and alcohol. Individuals involved in the legal system may complete this program if they are court mandated to receive education around drugs and alcohol. A two-day assessment is given to assess the appropriateness of the program and referrals to treatment are provided to those who need a higher level of care.
Clients who are court-referred for anger management must complete an assessment before entering into the program. Our anger management program is court approved and certified by the National Anger Management Association (NAMA).
Psychoeducation within the Criminal Justice System
LICADD provides psychoeducation and anger management services within the Suffolk County Criminal Justice System and coordinates with Alternative to Incarceration programs to better serve young people who are in need of mental health and substance use supports.
