Lauren Navarra is a New York State Licensed Master of Social Work with a specialization in alcohol and substance abuse counseling. Lauren was president of the Masters of Social Work Graduate Student Association as well as a member of the Phi Alpha Honor Society. Lauren graduated from LIU Post in Brookville after receiving her bachelors in Psychology from Quinnipiac University.
Prior to working at LICADD, Lauren has worked with children, adolescents, and adults with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse diagnosis. Lauren started her internship work at the Melillo Center for Mental Health followed by Family and Children’s Association where she gained experience in both intensive and non-intensive outpatient settings. Lauren has experience utilizing various individual and group therapy modalities that emphasize the strengths and self-determination of clients of diverse backgrounds. She enjoys Positive Psychology, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Meditation as means for recovery and well-being. Lauren motivates students grades K-12 by discussing healthy coping skills and alternatives to substance use. Lauren has a passion for helping others and is committed to spreading the mission of LICADD.
