Introduction to key concepts of mindfulness, science of mindfulness and key strategies to present to young people in grades K-12. Review stress response and impact on young people in school settings on physical, emotional and educational level. This course will provide an overview of utilizing mindfulness skills with youth struggling with substance abuse, mental health concerns, anxiety/stress. Introduce key strategies of mindfulness to provide participants with a variety of tools and resources that can be used with young people.

Gordon is a licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist who has been practicing his profession lovingly for over 20 years. Gordon has continued to develop his professional education by continuing studies in addiction, codependency, anxiety, depression, mindfulness (MBSR), neuropsychology, resilience, meditation and 12 step recovery. It has been his mission to assist individuals to improve their emotional lives and to help them find the peace they are seeking. Gordon has extensive experience working with adults, teens and children. He has successfully helped individuals struggling with relationship issues, addictions, anxiety and depression disorders, parenting issues and various family/life conflicts.
CEU Certificates will be provided at the conclusion of the workshop as long as you were pre-registered for the training. Participants that register at the door will receive their certificates via email 2 weeks after the conclusion of the training. As per the NYSED, participants must be present for the entire workshop in order to receive CEU credits.
