There are few patients we treat who are not dealing with trauma in some way from their lived experience. This course addresses clinical creative arts therapies practice issues related to trauma. Relevant creative arts therapy literature will be read, prior to the course beginning, and then discussed in class. This literature includes useful theoretical and practical information about working with trauma, and art made by patients who have experienced trauma, related to the areas of: post-traumatic stress disorder; cumulative trauma; sexual abuse and incest; terrorism; grief; war; natural disasters; societal stress; and substance abuse related trauma. Creative modalities and creative arts therapy techniques represented in the literature will be done as an experiential.

CEU Certificates will be provided at the conclusion of the workshop as long as you were pre-registered for the training. Participants that register at the door will receive their certificates via email 2 weeks after the conclusion of the training. As per the NYSED, participants must be present for the entire workshop in order to receive CEU credits.
